Many users have noticed a problem after changing their iPhone battery. Indeed, “Apple” has activated a software lock which systematically returns a message saying that the authenticity of the battery cannot be verified! This is not a malfunction but a functionality that “Apple” imposes so that users repair their iPhone at “Apple”. Even if you purchase a 100% original battery, the message will continue to display and the battery health status will not be available.

Lab tests have confirmed that even when you replace your battery with a genuine Apple battery, the iPhone still displays the message. This does not affect the performance or battery life of iPhones.

Take for example two new iPhone 12s. Swap the batteries of the 2 iPhones and you will also receive this message on BOTH devices. This message is not an indication of battery quality or battery type. It indicates that the serial number of the replaced battery does not match the serial number stored in the iPhone settings. When an Apple Authorized Service Center installs a new battery, it uses special software to calibrate the new serial number. So your iPhone recognizes this replacement battery as its own.

This inconvenience annoys many professionals who sell original parts and who are questioned by customers who claim that the batteries are not original.

There is a solution to avoid the message. The serial number of the new Li-ion battery would need to be integrated into the iPhone via a specific device.

IMPORTANT: the battery alert appears on iPhone series 2018 and above. The message remains on the lock screen for the first 4 days and in settings for 15 days.
